Look for This in the Middle of Your Trouble

On Monday I dragged myself to school with a purse pocket full of Ricola Cough Drops. (Matt calls them “kräuter-zuckers”, with a supposedly Swedish accent.) I had nursed a sore throat all day Sunday and wondered how I would have the energy to teach on Monday afternoon.

Then I got to school and had forgotten that literally half of my students were gone at a choir event for the day. It was calm and quiet. We moved slower than usual, and teaching required half the energy.

During lunch I thanked the Lord for such grace on me.

This is a short blog post today, but I thought you might need a little reminder of this one truth:

God is kind to us.

In the middle of trouble, watch for this. -christyfitzwater.com

Along with the trouble God purposefully allows into our lives, in order to mature and complete us, he always includes a side of kindness and encouragement. This is why I can give thanks even with a sore throat and drippy nose.

How has God surprised you with kindness recently?

Same here. A “to do” list a mile long then snow. Two days of snow so all activities canceled. That means more time home to get caught up. It’s the little things but they are huge sometimes!
