Make Your Eyes See More Than the Acres Surrounding You

I have to show you this picture I took out the window, as that preacher man and I snuck up on the backside of the Grand Tetons.

Do you see only the difficulty that surrounds you? -christyfitzwater.com

Through miles and miles of Idaho potato fields we drove. Through flat open spaces that reminded me of the panhandle of Texas every once in a while. Nothing, nothing, nothing. A farm house and silos every so often to break up the horizon.

But in the distance were those jagged, snow-covered peaks to the left that got bigger the closer we came.

This is what it means to know God.

Living in the flat lands that stretch ahead. Sometimes miles of nothing, nothing, nothing. But the grandeur of the Lord always stands at a fixed point.

Something we’re always driving toward.

Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus…  (Hebrews 3:1  NASB)

And when we look ahead, fixing our eyes on Jesus, suddenly all those miles spike up to the heavens.
